What is Cat6 Cabling?
May 26, 2010
When it comes to cabling for data and communication, the wiring is referred to by its category. Each subsequent category improves upon the last, and most cables are backward compatible, meaning that they can still be used in conjunction with older models. The most state-of-the-art option on the market today is Cat6 cabling, which is the successor to Cat 5/5E cabling.
Cat6 cabling is created using stricter standards for system noise and MHz capacity. The most common use for Cat6 cabling is Ethernet, although it can be used for other protocols and cabling purposes. Like most cables, Cat6 is composed of four wires. What sets it apart for previous models is its superior insulation, which has a drastic effect on the overall performance.
Cable Services Expanded
July 10, 2009
We have decided to add to our services the FLUKE Cable Analyzer. This equipment is certified to analyze Cat5 and Cat6 cable networks.
The hardware will read the efficiency of the cable network and diagnose any errors and weakness’ along with the ability to guarantee the cable network is operating according to manufacturers specifications and requirements.
